The region of Provence

Provence borders are defined by nature: to the west, the Rhône river; south, the Mediterranean Sea; and north, where the olive trees end. To the east are the Alps and a border which has shifted over the centuries between France and Italy. Within these borders is a contrasting terrain of gorges, mountains, rolling hills, saltflats, lavender fields, fruit orchards and sun-drenched beaches. The apartments, villas, country homes, and tours that we offer are sprinkled throughout these borders and are carefully selected. Provence Properties is committed to providing prompt, professional and personalized service.

The lavender in Provence this summer is a true treat for the senses!

lavender field 2014

A hot and sunny spring resulted in an early bloom for the lavender this summer.  By the time our first group arrived on June 21st, the lavender was already bursting with fragrance and color.  However, an early bloom also means an earlier harvest.  I held my breath and silently made pleas to the lavender gods while driving over the crest of the hill with our second group in early July.  We were not disappointed at all.  The fields were just spectacular - full with fragrance, color and beauty.
